Abstract

In this study we report 2 cases of ERNV in patients with MacTel plus VMT & subsequent changes noted after VR surgery. 2 patients aged 58 (Case 1) & 70 (Case 2), known cases of DM/HTN presented to us with DOV in (OU). BCVA for Case 1 was 6/18 in (OU) & Case 2 was 6/60 in (OD) & 6/18 in (OS) with immature cataract in (OU). Fundus examination in both cases showed presence of macular scar temporal to fovea in (OU) along with NVE & VH in case 1 and pre-retinal h’age in case 2. OCT/OCTA/FFA documented the presence of VMT, ERNV and PFT in (OU) in case 1. In Case 2, PFT in (OU), VMT plus ERNV in (OD) and SRF plus PED in (OS). Both cases underwent (OD) Phaco + IOL + PPV + MP + EL + FAE + Anti-VEGF. 2 month post-op BCVA in (OD) was 6/9 in Case 1 & 6/24 in Case 2. Post-op OCT/OCTA picture in (OU) showed the migration of previously located epiretinal neovascularization to intraretinal location secondary to release of VMT making these compelling cases for delineating exact pathology of ERNV.
