Abstract
PURPOSE: To estimate the accuracy of the predicted vault obtained preop with the attained vault obtained postop after ICL implantation
METHODS:125 eyes undergoing Implantable Collamer Lens(ICL) implantation were included in this retrospective observational study. The sulcus to sulcus(STS) distance & anterior chamber depth(ACD) from both devices were compared. The simulated vault was derived from UBM(Ultrasound Biomicroscope) preop for the selected ICL size. Postop the attained vault measured on OCT(CASIA-2) was correlated with the preop simulated vault.
RESULTS: The Pearson correlation coefficient was 0.78(p<0.001) & 0.9(p<0.001) for STS& ACD on UBM & OCT respectively. Linear regression analysis between simulated ICL vault & postop attained vault showed a statistically significant correlation (r=0.91)(p<0.001) CONCLUSION: The attained vault obtained on OCT correlates well with predicted vault on UBM. Hence use of a non-invasive OCT device for vault predication can be the way forward
