Abstract
Background-The 2nd important goal of cataract surgery is to prevent post-operative inflammation. Aim-To compare the efficacy of topical corticosteroids with topical NSAIDs alone and their synergistic effect in prevention of post-operative inflammation in cases of uncomplicated cataract surgery. Materials and Methods-This will be a hospital based prospective comparative experimental study comprising of 195 eyes of 195 patients undergoing uncomplicated cataract surgery. Post operatively patients will be divided in 3 groups, 65 in each group. Post-operative inflammation will be compared in all the three groups on day 1, day 3, 2 weeks and 4 weeks. Results-In this study we expect that topical steroids when used along with topical NSAIDs have synergistic effect in reducing post-operative inflammation and reducing complications
