Abstract
38 year old male with no significant medical history presented complaining of diplopia, decreased vision & dizziness & history for intermittent nausea and vomiting for four days. BCVA was 6/6 OU with -2.0 cylinder at 90 correcting the DOV. He also had right beating nystagmus. Examination revealed an alert & oriented patient. The treating physician found right ataxia. Lung auscultation & abdominal examination did not show any abnormal findings. Laboratory workup was unremarkable, with no significant electrolyte imbalances.Brain MRI advised, revealed an isolated rounded lesion in the right cerebellum adjacent to the fourth ventricle measuring up to 10 mm suggestive of a cavernous hemangioma. The patient’s symptoms resolved over a period of 2 months following onset & he continued without development of neurologic symptoms. The treating physician elected to continue to monitor the patient & surgical resection was deferred. Cavernoma are rare in males at this age, making our case unique.
