Abstract
Method– Case1- 36Y male with c/o eyelid swelling, bulging of eyeballs for 6month. O/E VA BE 6/9, corneal sensation intact, Schirmer’s test wnl, proptosis 21.5 mm, RE EOM adduction reduced. TFT – TSH low,T3 & T4 high , anti-TPO positive.
Case2– 35Y female with c/o gradually progressive bulging of eyeballs, watering, grittiness since 3 months. O/E VA BE 6/12, proptosis 22 mm,upper lid retraction 2 mm. TFT – TSH low, rest WNL.
Case3– 40Y female with c/o watering,eyelid retraction, mild pain, bulging of eyeballs since 1 year. O/E VA RE 6/18 & LE 6/24, 23 mm proptosis, lid lag present, EOM intact. TFT – TSH low,T3 & T4 high.
Result–After investigations revealed active thyroid disease, patients referred to medicine for conservative management.
Conclusion– Patients should be followed closely & treated appropriately &in a timely manner to prevent sight threatening complications.
