Abstract
A 36 year old female diagnosed with breast ca gave complaints of defective vision following chemotherapy with injection docetaxel(first cycle). She had no other associated comorbidities. Best corrected visual acuity in both eyes was perception of light. Both eyes anterior segment & fundus examination was normal. Similarly a 63 year old female diagnosed with lung ca gave complaints of defective vision following injection cisplatin. Her best corrected visual acuity right eye was perception of light and in left eye was 3/60NIGNIP.She had no other comorbidities. Both eyes anterior segment & fundus examination was normal. Both cases were diagnosed as toxic optic neuropathies following chemotherapy. Patients were discontinued with the current regimen and started on steroids. Both the patients showed dramatic response to steroids. Early detection and close ophthalmic monitoring allows concurrent cancer treatment and prevention of chemotherapy induced ocular side effects.
