Abstract
Materials and Methods:
Topical Cyclosporine 0.1 % was used in the study.Main outcome measures were degree of intraocular inflammation, visual acuity and dose reduction of steroids.
Results:
Intraocular inflammation was improved or stable in 90% of patients, visual acuity was improved or stable in 85%, and steroid dosage was reduced in 77% (by half or more in 63%). Adverse symptoms was mainly one burning sensation/irritation in 90% of cases.
Conclusions:
Cyclosporine was found to be effective in reducing inflammation and protecting vision in uveitis.
