Abstract
Case presentation: A 22-year old girl presented with progressive increase in her glass prescription since 11 years.
On general examination, she had short stature, mid-facial hypoplasia, genu varum and wrist widening. Best corrected visual acuity was 6/9P in both eyes. The intraocular pressure was 34 mm Hg and 32 mm Hg in the right and left eye respectively. The optic disc showed inferonasal crescent of peripapillary atrophy and a vertical cup-to-disc ratio of 0.6 in both eyes. A 30-2 visual field showed a generalized reduction in sensitivity in both eyes. She was started on brimonidine eyedrops and 3-monthly follow ups were done. On subsequent visit her IOP reduced to 16 and 14 mm Hg respectively.
Conclusion: A high index of suspicion is needed while examining patients of Desbuquois syndrome as these patients are known to have open angle glaucoma.
