Abstract
Aim to report the rare occurrence of embolic CRAO OS with partial recovery (to begin with) that was eventually diagnosed to be due to an ipsilateral ophthalmic artery aneurysm on cerebral digital subtraction angiography
(DSA ) in a young 32 year old male subject Neurosurgical opinion was sought & the option of treating with platinum coils was explained to the patient. However the patient opted to be on oral aspirin for the next 3 years when he was asymptomatic & maintained vision of 6/12 He then developed sudden loss of vision in the same eye that was revealed to be caused by possible involvement of posterior ciliary arteries on FFA & ICGA presumably causing posterior ischemic optic neuropathy & choroidal ischemia The rare association of ophthalmic artery aneurysm with tandem blocks in the retinal & choroidal circulations will be highlighted
