Abstract
Aim:study the psychological state in patients with CSR and to find if anxiety,sleep deprivation,OCD,personality disorder lead to development of CSR and how treatment affects outcome
Methods:45 patients with CSR and 45 healthy age,sex matched controls took part from Sep19 to April20.Interview/questionnaire was used to study CSR and assessing psychological state with The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index,The Epworth Sleepiness Scale to diagnose sleep disorders,Depression Anxiety Stress Scales 21 to evaluate the emotional status.stress factors,caffeine intake and personality traits were noted
Results:CSR pts had poor sleep quality.Sleep latency,duration was affected.The percentage of pts with stress 35%,depression 27% and anxiety 32% was found to be higher as compared to controls.Strong association with OCD,caffeine,intake,Type A personality and stress p<0.05 Conclusion:Higher anxiety scores were observed in CSR pts.The study reveals that poor sleep quality & stress are risk factors for CSR
