Abstract
Methods:90 parents of school going children aged 5 to 15,newly diagnosed with myopia were taken in the study.Assesment of their knowledge about ocular health was done,education was imparted in the form acceptable as per their understanding/language.Children were followed up and reassessment of the parent’s knowledge was done at subsequent visits
Results:one on one education was most effective way of imparting knowledge and lead to better adherence of advices.satisfaction levels were high with understanding of the condition and treatment options available
Conclusion:knowledge enhancement of parents leads to better outcomes in children with newly diagnosed myopia, with better adherence to advices
