Abstract

Introduction: Orbital sub periosteal hematoma is one of rare condition, which present to ophthalmic emergency. Early diagnosis and management salvage the eye and vision. During initial phase of COVID complete lockdown, accessibility of hospital for patients for non-covid condition was difficult. Non availability of facility lead to delayed management. Material & method:A 9 year old boy presented to our hospital post fifteen days of initial trauma. He was treated with brow laceration repair and antibiotics and lubricating eye drops at primary center. Post repeat orbital CECT scan, we confirmed the diagnosis but due to delayed presentation boy had developed severe keratitis with hypopyon and vision was PL+ PR accurate. Sub periosteal hematoma drainage with trasorrhaphy was done. Result : Due to delay in the diagnosis & management, outcome of the disease was compromised. Conclusion: In this COVID time delay in management led a salvageable condition in to unsalvageable state.
