Abstract
Coloboma results from the failure of closure of the embryonic fissure during development. It is also associated with conditions like micro-ophthalmia , nystagmus ,strabismus etc. A 45 years old female presented with diminution of vision in both eyes since childhood , Right eye > Left eye. Slit-lamp examination showed Bilateral Microcornea , Iris coloboma & immature cataract. There was Exotropia in the Right eye. Fundus view was hazy in both eyes. Patient was advices phaco-emulsification with foldable intra ocular lens under guarded visual prognosis. Visual outcome in such cases depends on the surgical technique and also the posterior segment findings.
