We intend to present a case of radiation-induced necrosis of an exenterated socket.A 26yr male presented with an orbital&maxillectomy defect post extended exenteration+adjuvant radiotherapy for chondroblastic osteosarcoma of maxilla.Magnetic ocular prosthesis was planned.Prophylactic hyperbaric oxygen therapy(HBOT)was given&metallic implants placed surgically. The osseointegrated implants were exposed after 6months.In the followup, diffusely scattered necrotic ulcers developed in the socket wall.CECT showed no signs of osteomyelitis/osteoradionecrosis.A trial of broad spectrum antibiotics showed no response&superficial ulcers recurred at new sites.Nutrition was supplemented with proteins,fishoil,omega3fattyacids,antioxidants&the implants were submerged to accelerate healing. The lesions improved with the therapy.Radiation may cause soft tissue loss&compromise local blood supply leading to dry socket.Nutrition supplementation is useful as an adjunct to HBOT in recovery of radiation ulcers.
