Abstract
Targeted emmetropia is the holy grail of all refractive surgery and corneal indices play the most important role in achieving that. A single-center, prospective, observational comparative study evaluated correlation of changes in SimK, TMP, OPK, and TOP obtained from OrbScan; with attempted correction of myopia in participants undergoing SMILE in a follow-up period of 3 months. 248 eyes of 124 participants were analyzed. Corneal topography was done preoperatively and at 1-week, 1-month, and 3-month follow-up. Bland-Altman analysis and Pearson’s correlation coefficient were used to establish correlation of various keratometric indices with attempted degree of correction. Changes in SimK reading in 3 mm zone had maximum correlation with attempted correction of mild and moderate myopia. In high myopia group, changes in TMP in 5 mm zone had maximum correlation. SimK in 3mm zone had narrowest 95% LoA in all the 3 groups and appears to be the most predictable indicator of target emmetropia.
