Abstract
Mean age of patients was 57.5±11.5 years. Out of 282 patients, 32 were lost to follow up. Progression of retinopathy was seen in 29.2% operated eyes as compared to 14.8% in fellow eyes(OR=2.374,95% CI: 1.52-3.69, P<0.05). The progression was associated with raised HbA1c and increased duration of diabetes in both groups(P<0.05). 14.8% operated eyes had maculopathy as compared to 6.8% in fellow eyes(OR=2.38,95% CI: 1.30-4.35, P<0.05). There was significant association between cataract surgery and progression of retinopathy and maculopathy especially in eyes where preoperative DR was present.[advanced_iframe src="https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/embed.aspx?src=https://aiosproceedings.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/2021/E-Poster/FP2291.pptx" width="100%" height="608"]
