Abstract
CASE REPORT-elderly male pt presented with painless sudden worsening of visual acuity and floaters in the right eye,a month back. On basis of clinical examination , u/l ARN alongwith vitreous hemorraghe was established. USG showed hyperechoic shadows in the vitreous, with no evidence of retinal detachment . Patient was diagnosed HIV positive 4 years back. CD4 counts elevated and started on ART. Intravitreal anti-VEGF was adm to the patient ,after which there was a stabilization of visual acuity.
CONCLUSION- ARN can also be established in an immune-compromised case, contrary to its predeliction in immune-competent pts. Accurate diagnosis is crucial for improvement in the clinical status of the patient.
