Abstract
Methods: this was prospective cohort study, we collected data during lockdown period 22 march to 30 april of ocular injuries from emr during similar period of previous year. We compared data related presentation surgeries and pediatric injuries during these two period.Confounding factor may be we could not have data from outside districts because of travel restrictions.
Results: incidence of ocular injuries from 22march-30april 2019 was 56 whereas from 22march-30april 2020 was 50,out of which 37.5% and 50% required surgical intervention respectively. the incidence of pediatric trauma was 9% and 30% in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
Conclusions: lock down due to covid had significant impact on ocular injuries.
