Abstract
Asteroid hyalosis usually degenerative process characterized by shiny,golden dust in vitreous.
Case report
1.A 72 year old woman came with diminution of vision in right eye since 5 years it was gradual,progressive,painless. On examination of right eye- vision was hand movement,PR accurate. In Ant. Chamber golden dust like particles were visible,In lens- phacodonesis with mature cataract.
Bscan LE- showed hyper reflective echoes in vitreous.
2.A 65 year old man came with sudden diminution of vision in Left eye due to RTA.On examination of left eye-vision was PL-Positive, PR accurate. In Ant. Chamber- hyphema with golden dust like particle visible,lens showed jet black reflex.
Bsan LE- posteriorly dislocated lens with hyper reflective echoes in vitreous with near 100% spike. Conclusion: Scintillating bodies are finding of posterior segment but in these cases it appeared in ant. Chamber due to escape of vitreous in 1st case due to phacodonesis and 2nd due to posteriorly dislocated lens.
