Abstract

Purpose – To assess the outcomes of PCR Management during Phacoemulsification

We undertook this retrospective study to know the outcomes of cases with PCR. All those cases with associated co morbidity like cases with corneal opacity, glaucoma, Retinal involvement etc. were excluded from the study. Cases where PCR was managed using Multi piece foldable IOL as scaffold (N-17) were only included in the study. In early postoperative face increased reaction (3 cases), mild to moderate Keratitis (5 cases), raised IOP(4 cases) was noticed. Late Face after 6 weeks of follow up Continued Cystoid macular oedema (2 cases) IOL decentration (1 case) was noticed. BCVA was 6/9 or better in 14 cases whereas it was 6/12 in two cases and in one it was 6/18.

Conclusion: Managing PCR during phaco emulsification using Foldable IOL as Scaffold is the best way to manage it. It causes minimum complications
