Abstract
A dermoid cyst is a choristoma that results from sequestration of skin during embryonal development which are
commonly located in the superotemporal and superonasal part of the orbit. Dermoid Cyst situated close to the
lacrimal sac area is extremely rare (only 6 published cases reported as per our knowledge). Here we report a
case of dermoid cyst presenting as swelling on lacrimal sac area simlulating mucocele. The mass was excised
en masse and the histopathological examination revealed dermoid cyst. Although rare, dermoid should also be
considered as one of the differential diagnosis in case of a swelling in sac area or inferonasal part of the orbit.
