Abstract
We describe a patient who developed corneal dellen after fifteen days of an uneventful pterygium excision with conjunctival limbal autograft with fibrin glue without use of antimetabolites. He did not respond to lubricants and patching. There were no associated systemic risk factors. As the thinning increased, cyanoacrylate glue with bandage contact lens was done but the dellen reappeared seven days after the removal of glue. Dellen finally resolved with thermal punctal cautery applied to both the puncta.Dellen mostly responds to artificial tears, antibiotic ointment and a patch. However, in refractory cases, punctal cautery can be considered as a good option to increase tear pooling in the area of dellen thereby promoting healing.
