Abstract
100 patients with POAG divided into Gr A(50 pt) receive Betaxolol & Gr B (50 pt) receive Dorzolamide for a period of 6 months.
Patients not responding to either of two drugs were switched to alternative treatment after 2 wks.
Scanning Laser Doppler flowmetry were used to measure blood flow in Temporal neuro retinal Tim & cup of optic disc.
Laser inferometric measurement of fundus pulsation amplitude was used to measure choroidial blood flow.
Effects of both drugs on IOP & Ocular perfusion pr.were compared after 6 months of treatment.Dorzolamide increase blood flow in Temporal neuroretinal rim( 8.5 (1.5%),p<.001) vs.Betaxolol ; fundus pulsation amplitude ( 8.9 ( 1.3%),p<.001) vs Betaxolol in our study. This is considerable to prevent progression of visual field loss due to hemodynamic changes in POAG.[advanced_iframe src="https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/embed.aspx?src=https://aiosproceedings.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/2021/E-Poster/FP60.pptx" width="100%" height="608"]
