Abstract
ICK is a rare form of keratitis. A retrospective study was done which included clinical profile, newer possible etiological factors, microbiological analysis, and visual outcomes of ICK patients. All patients were treated medically and those not responding to medical management underwent therapeutic penetrating keratoplasty.
Eight cases were included in this study. Four patients (50%) had symptoms, while others were asymptomatic. Past history of keratoplasty was seen in five patients(62.5%), while use of contact lens was seen in four patients(50%). Six patients(75%) were on topical steroid medication, while three(37.5%) were on anti-glaucoma medications at the time of diagnosis. Organisms isolated on culture were Streptococcus sp. in four patients(50%), Burkholderia sp., Pseudomonas sp., Candida sp. Seven patients (87.5%) responded well to medical management, while one patient underwent therapeutic penetrating keratoplasty. Visual recovery was poor in all the patients.
