Abstract
Aim: To evaluate clinicopathological presentation, t/t outcome of various lid tumors in this part of country.
Methods: A prospective study was performed from July’16 to April’19. Each patient underwent history & clinical examination.
Result: Out of 148 cases of lid tumors 62 were malignant. Sites of tumor were upper lid (48.39%), lower lid (35.48%), both lids (6.43%) & medial canthus & periocular areas (9.70%). In gross morphology of malignant tumor were ulceronodular (58.06%), nodular(25.18%) and ulcerative(16.13%) type. Most common malignancy was SGC(40.39%), as compare to BCC(29.03%), SCC(25.80%) & malignant melanoma (4.84%). Commonest benign tumor was haemangioma. Primary t/t was surgical excision & lid reconstruction. Mean follow up period was 14 months. At final follow up 80% patients were cured.
Conclusion: In this part of country, delayed presentation lead to extensive lid carcinoma. Early detection of lesion can markedly reduce ocular morbidity, orbital invasion & recurrence.
