Abstract
Materials,methods:Study period Mar19-Feb20.14 eyes of 14 patients(48-63y;12M2F)with encysted blebs(IOP25-41with maximum medicines/massage) who refused re-surgery(11 posttrab,3 post AGV;all blebs encysted).Needling done 2-3 months postsurgery,after consent and aseptic precautions, with sterile26G needle at slit lamp.Follow-up upto 1y
Results :IOP reduced by>10mmHg in all.6(42.8%) patients’ IOP within 2months back to previous;needed further medical/surgical means.Repeat needling(2-3times)done in 2 AGV and 2 post-trab(28.6%) patients refusing surgery. 4 patients(28.6%;pre-needling IOP25-28)maintained IOP<20 with pre-needling medicines. Massive sub-conj. bleed in a patient;pain for 4-5 days in another Conclusion:Outdoor bleb needling, a safe and moderately effective method, can be tried in under-filtering blebs in patients refusing surgery. But it’s safety should be re-evaluated in post-covid era[advanced_iframe src="https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/embed.aspx?src=https://aiosproceedings.s3.ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/2021/E-Poster/FP659.pptx" width="100%" height="608"]
