Abstract
Capillary hemangiomas are common benign tumors of infancy which usually regress spontaneously by 7-8 years of life or requires minimum intervention. However acquired capillary hemangioma of eyelid is a rare condition in adults which needs treatment.
We hereby report a case of a 24 years old women who presented to our OPD with mass in left upper eyelid since last 8 years. The mass was painless and gradually increased in size. On palpation it was firm, non-compressible and non-pulsatile. VA was 6/6 OU. Other anterior segment findings and fundoscopy were unremarkable. FNAC showed vascular hamartomatous lesion.
Complete surgical excision of the mass was done. Excision biopsy sample on microscopy showed features suggestive of hemangioma. No recurrence was observed in 6 months follow up.
This case report is an attempt to sensitize the Ophthalmologists about the acquired capillary hemangioma of eyelid which is an uncommon tumor but responds well to the available treatment modalities.
