Abstract
Euphorbia is diverse plant and has 15000 species with world wide distribution mainly in hot and humid climate and is also known as African milk bush. The milky sap causes severe reaction to skin , eye and mouth. The spectrum of ocular reaction varies from mild conjunctivitis to permanent bindness. We are reporting a case of severe keratouveits secondry to milky latex of euborbia umbellate species in a very young patient with large corneal defect almost covering three quarter of cornea with good visual recovery.Individuals working in cleaning ,grass cutting should wear protective eye glassess . Serious eye injuries can be avoided by simply wearing large goggle with proper fitting. To the best of our knowledge and literature search, this is the youngest patient with large corneal defect almost covering three quarter of cornea as case of euphorbia induced toxic keratopathy.
