Abstract

An elderly male presented with sudden painless diminution of vision in Left Eye with VA-FC 2m, PH-6/60 on 2nd post-operative day following SICS surgery.Surgery was uneventful with VA- 6/6 and was on topical antibiotic and steroid eyedrops on 1st post-operative day. Ocular examination showed healthy incision site with mild subconjunctival haemorrhage, AC (Flare 2+ and Cells 3+), blood clot over the iris at 2 O’ clock position and few pigment cells behind the PC IOL. Fundus revealed hazy media due to vitreous haemorrhage.

USG B-Scan showed very high reflectivity in vitreous with complete PVD.No history of any ocular trauma or any systemic diseases. R/E was cataractous with rest details WNL. Inj. Dexamethasone 4mg, topical moxifloxacin 0.5%-dexamethasone 0.1%, cyclopentolate E/D and Vit C tablets were started.Symptoms gradually subsided with BCVA to 6/18,PH -6/12 at 2 weeks and 6/9(p) at 4 weeks follow up.

Early detection and prompt management showed good result.
