Abstract
We are now in a new era of ophthalmic surgeries with the advent of Corneal LASER procedures. Our focus is how to avoid the most feared complication i.e post LVC-Ectasia. After attending this session, the attendee would have an insight into the critical points that one must consider before planning a laser vision corrective procedure, and also be able to detect a cornea, that appear safe to proceed. with in the larger picture, however might kick back later, the borderline cornea. Also, what role does a ‘Precautionary’ Corneal Collagen Cross-linking play in dealing with these borderline corneas. Diagnosis of post LVC ectasia is a critical aspect of refractive surgery. The early, subtle hints would be highlighted along with the management options. This session would touch base with all the nuances that a refractive surgeon must be wary of in Pre, Intra and Post LASER Vision corrective procedures in order to manage catastrophic event.
