Abstract
Uveitis encompasses a wide variety of conditions that have the potential to cause severe visual impairment. Apart from damage to the ocular structures secondary to uncontrolled inflammation, complications like cataract, glaucoma and hypotony add to the quantum of ocular morbidity. This video based IC will highlight treatment algorithms and approaches to manage patients with uveitic cataract and uveitic glaucoma. Ultrasound biomicroscopy based evaluation of uveitic hypotony with step-wise approach to manage the same would also be discussed. Indications and role of diagnostic and therapeutic vitrectomy in challenging uveitic conditions will be elucidated. Management protocols based on radiological imaging guided systemic tissue biopsy and surgical techniques of vitreous, chorio-retinal and subretinal biopsy in patients with uveitis will also be discussed.
