Abstract

Senior citizens will be more apprehensive of visiting hospitals in these COVID times and thus delaying elective surgeries like that of Cataract. Large number of patients will visit our centers over the next 2 years with varying degrees of complicated cataracts as a result of the extended lockdown and self fear of contracting Corona. Complication of hypermature cataract, lens induced glaucoma, management of grade 4 to grade 5 cataract. Many cataracts with uncontrolled diabetes and recurrent uveitis cases will become routine for a few months to come. It is imperative that surgeons gear up for the battle in management of complicated cataracts post these COVID19 times.
