Abstract
Cataract in eyes which have been previously repaired for open globe injuries and eyes operated for glaucoma, vitreoretinal ,post keratoplasty, post lasik and after intravitreal injections have different patterns of onset, progression, management challenges, complications and outcome.Phaco in these eyes always present challenges in overall management. There are more risk of complications in these operated eyes who are already sick eyes and require very meticulous planning, proper intraocular IOL power calculation, particularly in repaired, keratoplasty,lasik/rk and silicone oil filled eyes.Requires gentle as well as safe approach in post trab, keratoplasty, post vr and post injection cataract to avoid injury to bleb, endothelium, posterior capsule etc. Some of these patients require different postoperative care also because of risk of graft failure, bleb scarring, retinal detachment. This course will highlight how these operated eyes need to be treated differently to get best possible outcome.
