Abstract
SICS is the most commonly taught and performed surgery in India. In developing countries like India where the population is high, SICS is a boon as it allows for faster surgery with good visual quality. This course will discuss easy and innovative tricks to handle SICS in challenging conditions that coexist with cataract like corneal opacity, uveitis, glaucoma, subluxation, pterygium and astigmatism. Many different techniques are required during surgery when these diseases occur simultaneously with cataract. This course is designed for the experienced SICS surgeon. The faculty have a wealth of experience of both SICS and teaching principles. This course will demonstrate ways to handle SICS in challenging conditions so as to improve the surgical outcome and reduce the chances of complications.
