Abstract
Diabetic retinopathy(DR) is the most common vascular retinopathy we encounter in clinical practice. Correct identification of the various lesions of DR & the stage of DR are important aspects in its optimum management. This IC will highlight potential pitfalls in diagnosing pitfalls in diagnosis of DR particularly the vision-threatening forms of DR viz, PDR & DME & is intended to dispel all uncertainties in diagnosis of DR. The target audience is comprehensive ophthalmologists & the neophyte VR surgeon.
DR will be a major public health problem in India & in keeping with the axion that “Doing routine & seemingly small tasks perfectly is key”, this IC will revisit & reiterate the primacy of DR in the daily routine of an ophthalmologist.
