Abstract

To demonstrate an efficient, safe and a new device sewing needle microcapsulotome with the principle of ball point sewing machine needle system to initiate a round hole puncture at the centre of tense anterior capsule in white intumescent mature cataracts to prevent sudden outburst and radial extension of anterior capsular tear leading to Argentinian flag sign during capsulorrhexis.Round pointed tip sewing needle microcapsulotome is designed with the principle of ballpoint sewing machine needle system. Round pointed tip of the sewing needle micro capsulotome when pierce tight and stretched anterior capsule create a hole, which is similar to mini capsulorhexis with round continuous circular edge, without any discontinuity. Which do not tear away with the sudden out burst of intralenticular fluid and disruptive force generated by the stretched tight anterior capsule. Central hole helps to evacuate intralenticular fluid and decompress the capsule prier to initiation of capsulorhexis.
