Abstract
We present the surgical video of lens removal in left eye with scleral fixated IOL implantation (MODIFIED GABORS TECHNIQUE) in a 6-year-old girl with bilateral Microspherophakia and zonular dialysis. Patient presented with bilateral subluxated microspherophakic lens with an uncorrected vision of 6/60. Axial length was 26.09 mm (RE) and 26.95mm (LE) with myopic fundus. Systemic evaluation was normal. Both father and younger sibling had similar ocular findings. This video highlights the removal of the subluxated lens through a superior scleral tunnel using a wire Vectis. A 3 piece PMMA IOL was scleral fixated by externalizing and placing the haptics under 2 partial thickness scleral tunnels placed at 3 and 9 ‘O’ clock respectively which were created using a bent paracentesis blade. Postoperatively her unaided visual acuity was 6/9, N8 (2.5 near add) with stable well centred IOL and excellent visual rehabilitation following the procedure.
