Abstract
Due to the effect of gravity and other anatomical factors, the lower eyelid is more affected in the ageing process. While a blepharoplasty is a useful surgery in restoring the youthful appearance of the face – there are many factors that play a role in deciding which type of blepharoplasty would be ideally suited for any case. These factors include patient’s age, amount of fat prolapse that is visible and skin laxity among others. In addition, in young patients, a blepharoplasty may not be required, where a prominent tear trough hollow required filling. In this video, three case scenarios are discussed with high quality videos. Step-by-step demonstration of trans-cutaneous blepharoplasty (subciliary approach); a trans-conjunctival blepharoplasty; and a dermal filler injection into the tear trough hollow are covered in detail in this video. In the end, all procedures are aimed at Lower Lid Rejuvenation; in essence, there is ‘one goal, but many solutions’, and customization is key.
