Abstract
Mindfulness is a powerful tool essential in today’s world to lead a peaceful yet precise lifestyle. This video is aimed at understanding how to employ varied techniques to develop a spirit of shoshin or beginner’s mindset and awareness of the present moment by simple and effective techniques. Applications in simple clinic practices included focusing on breathing techniques or visualization during washing up prior to a surgery. Consistency in above practices helps in developing neuroplasticity, it ensures faster and sharpening of all senses, increasing cognitive performance which ensures understanding to pick up signs or improve surgical skills. It also increases central executive networking activity, reduces anxiety and improves interaction with patients and the working environment. In today’s world of medical burnout and in the COVID-19 times this phenomenon transforms the mind and cultivates a biological tilt towards health and well-being for both patients and doctors alike.
