Abstract
Methods: A 16 years boy, known case of marfan syndrome. On examination, His best corrected visual acuity was Perception of light positive in right eye and 6/60 in left eye. When INR was reduced to 1.23, then we planned to go for vitreoretinal surgical intervention. We avoided buckle insertion due to extreme thin sclera. We did pars plana vitrectomy with lansectomy with Perfluorocarbone liquid with endolaser and Heavy silicon oil insertion as long term temponade. Case was kept under follow up for 4 months.
Results: 4 months after vitrectomy, Retina was remained attached with 14 mm of Hg intraocular pressure. His best corrected visual acuity in his right eye is 6/36.
Conclusions: Though there are multiple challenges of surgery in this case, Smooth planning with meticulous efficient intervention may give better stable outcomes in this complex situation.
