Abstract

Dissociated vertical deviation (DVD) is a condition in which non-fixating eye drifts upward when it is not being used. Aside from the upward drift most frequently seen in DVD, outward drift or rotation of the eye can also be seen. It is usually bilateral, asymmetrical, and often associated with congenital esotropia.

In this video, we would cover the surgical management of the DVD. This would include popularly practiced surgical methods like inferior oblique exteriorization surgery and superior rectus recession surgery. This video would be helpful for postgraduate students and general ophthalmologists understand the dissociated vertical deviation clinical feature and its surgical management. It would also helpful for practicing strabismologist.
