Abstract
We are now fighting an invisible enemy on a global scale that has brought about an explosion of challenges for health care workers. A torrent of guidelines and protocols were provided by various scientific associations. But there were difficulties in implementing them in densely populated country like India. This unique and unusual situation motivated us to design and engineer a safe and effective technique incorporated with the safety protocols for routine high volume practices. Hence emerged this 16×16 sq feet acrylic “Novel Cubicle” to handle patients in COVID-19 era which helped minimise patient contact and handling time without compromising precision and effectiveness in services of cataract, glaucoma, retina and cornea. This cubicle has further minimised the patient movement within the hospital and provides a comprehensive workflow model.This is a long term solution in this infectious era and a sustainable model.
