Eyes are not only an important sense organ of humans but also an integral part of sensual conversations. The former is explored in ophthalmology, the latter in Bollywood songs. And yet, the metaphoric use of eyes for romance often and perhaps unintentionally corresponds to various ocular conditions. This film tries to establish the association between such songs and eye disorders, especially pertaining to Pediatric Ophthalmology and Neuro-ophthalmology. The objective of the talk is to discuss the visual illnesses that have been romanticized by the Indian film industry over the past eight decades and give one clinical pearl of each related condition. Let us learn ophthalmology not through books, diagrams and labels but through songs, lyrics and melodies.
