Abstract
A 27 year old gentleman presented with horizontal gaze palsy with right sixth nerve palsy following an intracranial bleed. He had right face turn and RET and complete limitation of ocular movements in the RE and LE moving only up to the midline. After waiting for 6 months, botulinum toxin injection was given was given to the right MR and left LR. Patient continued to have a right face turn with no improvement in ocular motility. Modified Anderson procedure was done as a second stage procedure. Mild improvement in the face turn, presented a year later with recurrent face turn which was worrying the patient. Hence a third stage procedure of right MR hangback recession with modified Nischida’s procedure following FDT and FGT was done to correct the ET.
This video highlights how complex strabismus in a patient can be tackled in a staged manner in order to achieve a satisfactory outcome.
