Abstract
Methods: Twenty five subjects underwent bilateral cataract surgery. Dominant eye targeted for emmetropiareceived monofocal Tecnis One IOL implantation while in the contralateral non-dominant eye ERV Tecnis Symfony IOL implantation was done with micromonovision. The dominant eye was targeted for emmetropia and the non-dominant eye for myopia of -0.5 to -0.75D. Uncorrected and corrected distance, intermediate and near visual acuity; reading performance, defocus curve & contrast sensitivity were studied.
Results: All patients had ≥0.2 logMAR UDVA and ≥0.5 logMAR UNVA. Reading acuity and reading speeds showed improvement over time. Dysphotopsia score was 0 (none) at 6 months. All patients achieved spectacle independence.
Conclusion: Implantation of monofocal IOL in one eye and ERV IOL in the other with micromonovision yielded good outcomes.
