Abstract
Corneal diseases are among the leading causes of blindness. PKP is effective and frequently performed solid organ transplantation worldwide. Multiple factors affect graft survival. Corneal transparency, hydration are not measurable quantitatively, however corneal pachymetry (CCT) is a direct indicator of hydration status of cornea. Prsistence of corneal oedema reflects clinically as decreased graft clarity and can be used to predict the outcome of graft survival. The CCT at 6 month is stable and shows strong positive correlation to graft survival. It can be used to predict graft outcomes. Graft CCT can be measured by optical and acoustic methods. Due to inter observer variability, the reproducibility and repeatability of these methods has been questioned time and around. This study was designed to study reproducibility and reliability of graft CCT, to correlate the results of these three methods viz. USP, ASOCT and NCSM in relation to one another and to graft outcomes.
