Abstract

Scleral Buckling is a dying art. With the rise of modern MIVS techniques Vitreo-Retina(VR) Surgeons worldwide have adopted Pars Plana Vitrectomy over Scleral Buckling. Although Scleral Buckling(SB) comes with its own set of Pros and Cons there are certain Retinal Pathologies in which Scleral buckling scores over PPV. Most of the current VR fellows under trainee are not exposed adequately to SB in their training period and are hence hesitant to adopt it in their clinical practice. Newer advances in Buckling like Macular Buckling, Suprachoroidal Buckling, Radial Buckling and sutureless Buckling although practised extensively in certain pockets of world and established superior in certain pathologies have not been adopted by masses due to their associated learning curve and relative unfamiliarity to routine SB procedures.

Our instruction course Aims to familiarise audience regarding versatility of Scleral Buckling and newer advancements in field of SB and their clinical applications.
