Abstract
PURPOSE-To increase the awareness of anterior chamber cholesterolosis. METHOD-A 54 year old male patient presented with chief complaint of mild congestion,frothy discharge in both eyes.There was a history of blunt trauma in right eye 20 years back,following which there is gradual and progressive diminution of vision.His unaided visual acuity was PL positive with inaccurate PR in superior and temporal quadrant in R/E and 6/6 in L/E.Slit lamp examination of B/E showed meibomitis and R/E revealed suspended shiny crystalline particles in anterior chamber and fixed pseudo-hypopyon.Bscan revealed retinal detachment with echogenic contents in sub retinal fluid,possibly cholesterol crystals.Anterior chamber tap revealed rectangular shaped cholesterol crystals.RESULT-Final diagnosis of anterior chamber cholesterolosis was made.CONCLUSION-Anterior chamber cholesterolosis is a rare entity compared to its posterior segment counterpart.Follow up of trauma patient is required.No financial interest
