Abstract
Posterior Scleritis is a rare condition and is even rarer to find in paediatric population. In paediatric population, it is mostly idiopathic with no systemic association. We report an interesting&first such case report of12yr old Asian F with complaints of recurrent episodes of sudden decrease of vision with moderate retro-orbital pain& headache in right eye(RE). Pt. consulted many ophthalmologists&was diagnosed with VKH Ds&/CSR.Evaluation revealed a BCVAof1 m RE,color&contrast vision lost&6/6 in left eye.On investigation inflamed intra-canalicular Rt. optic nerve&presence of bilateral sinutis with increased involvement in Rt.side&thickRCS ComplexRE&T Sign in B-scan with Sub-Tenon’s fluid indicates posterior scleritis causing optic neuritis.Pt.given IVmethyl-pred pulse therapy&also immunosuppressant with tapering dose of oral steroid.Pt. regainedBCVAof6/6 with normal color vision and contrast sensitivity maintained till3 months follow-up.Proper investigation must to diagnose&manage.
