FP1175 : BLEPHAROCHALASIS – AN APPROACH TOWARDS OPTIMAL COSMESIS

Abstract
Blepharochalasis is an uncommon disorder characterised by recurrent episodes of eyelid oedema in young patients. A 20 yr old female presented with complaint of excessive overhanging skin above right eye since four years. History of multiple attacks of right upper eyelid oedema with gradual onset of ptosis was present with last episode of oedema dating 2yrs back. Patient had history of allergy to pollens,and unremarkable famiy history. Mild ptosis, excellent levator function, and high upper lid crease were noted alongwith pseudopepicanthal fold in right eye. A diagnosis of right eye blepharochalasis was made. Right eye blepharoplasty was done keeping in mind the objective of attaining optimal cosmesis.The preoperative workup done and steps of blepharoplasty performed and postoperative results shall be discussed.
